The official unveiling of two Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge to the MWC event in Barcelona yesterday brought forward some new amazing features, but probably not more impressive the Always on Feature. Still was disclosed for some time, and it was confirmed to make its way to the jewels coming from Samsung for 2016.
The new Always On feature gives users the ability to see updated information on the screen such as the date, time and notifications without having to wake the phone itself. The best part is, there will be minimal drain on the battery due to the low amount of pixels needed to power the display. Ambient light call that is needed to be, Always On.
The notification menu to Samsung Galaxy S7 Always On can be customized with a range of display options, and sidebar Edge S7 can also be customized. This should be a huge convenience factor considering how many times the power of our day on our combined just to see the time. The small black and white screen will not require a lot of pixels at all making it an extremely effective feature.
Samsung is not exactly the first smartphone manufacturer to bring in the new function as the Nexus 6P and Moto X already featured as well as the G5 LG just announced. The G5 is another handset that was announced at the MWC event in Barcelona this year and should be the direct competitor to the Galaxy S7 with both the launch globally in March.
Always On is not the only novelty being packed both GS7 GS7 and Edge as it was confirmed an IP68 rating will be also seen. The improved rating means that the handset can be submerged in up to 1.5 meters of water for a period of 30 minutes and is also dustproof.
A disappointment to Samsung integration of Always On is that these rocking all previous combined won 't be included. There were rumors of a next update would make its way to the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge Galaxy S6 edge and More Galaxy Note 5, but it was made official, it will not.
